If you had asked little Kara what she wanted to be when she grew up, she'd have said, "An artist, a singer, a mom, or an author."
I'm a stay-at-home mom who can't help but create. As my kids have grown, I've taken on many different artistic pursuits, even launching an apparel and jewelry line a few years ago (check it out here if you want!). I also have been actively serving in my church, leading worship for about 10 years now.

My love for books has carried me through my whole life. I'm an unabashed Harry Potter fan and proud Ravenclaw (IYKYK). I read anything from fantasy to dystopian to romance, but I especially love a good beachy read that makes you forget about the world around you. I strive to write stories that do just that--transport you, make you smile with a sweet romance, and maybe just challenge your brain (and faith!) a little in the process.
I finished my very first novel--Let the Wind Come--this past year, and am in the process of finding a literary agent! It's scary but exciting to put my book out there. I'm currently developing another novel as well.
When I'm not reading books or writing, I spend most of my time enjoying the chaos of family life or pretending to be a suburban homesteader in South Dakota.
